Client Services

Pharmacy

When it comes to prescription medications, accurate dosage and administration are of the utmost importance. As your pet's prescribing veterinarian, you can trust that when you fill prescriptions at our pharmacy your pet will receive the right medication as quickly as possible. We will also provide you with detailed instructions on the medication's use, discuss any side effects or interactions and administer the first dose for you if needed.

Refills are easy too -- simply give us a call or fill out our online refill request form.

Microchipping

Of the six to eight million cats and dogs who find their way into shelters nationwide each year, less than 2 percent of cats are ever reunited with their owners. Dogs, who more commonly wear visible identification or are microchipped, are reunited with their worried owners 7.5 to 15 times more often.

The best way to have a fighting chance of being reunited with your pet should it ever stray or escape is to have him or her microchipped. The team at The Vet considers microchip pet IDs a fundamental precaution for your pet and an important part of responsible pet ownership.

We use AVID microchip system. Each microchip registers a pet with a unique identification number that is filed in a database with your contact information. The contact details can be updated at any time and is important to remember to do so whenever your information changes. If your pet is lost, the microchip can be scanned by animal control officers, at shelters, at veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and in many foreign countries.

This safe, reliable, and permanent pet identification takes less than five seconds to implant and can save you and your pet days. weeks. or more of fear and anguish.

End-of-Life Services

For many pet owners, even thinking about their pet's final days is difficult and emotional. Our pets are a part of our family. It is this strong bond, born from years of companionship that makes this time particularly hard to bear.

When possible, The Vet offers at-home euthanasia to established clients. However, our hospital patient schedule may not allow us to do so on short notice. Therefore, in order to provide more timely services, we often refer clients to a compassionate in-home euthanasia service when we are unavailable to perform the procedure. We also offer cremations through a crematory service. Your veterinarian can provide more information on these options.

All of us at The Vet will do our best to help you address these important issues with the compassion and sensitivity they require.
